November Book Club

What a wonderful book club we had this month! It was another great turnout, 16 girls, and even a snowstorm couldn't keep us away! Amanda was the wonderful hostess who served a delicious meal of Spaghetti Pie, salad, garlic bread, fruit salad and cherry and applie pie for desert! Yummy! Amanda held BC at her NEW home off Lincoln and I-25. She'd spent a ton of time painting and doing some renovations and it looked great! Love the new digs Amanda!

Our book for November was "The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peel Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer. I hear it was a challenging and interesting read (I'm still on the wait list at the library, darn it). With so many girls this month it was hard to keep the discussion on track, but Corrine sure did her best to try! LOL.

Don't you love our Charlie's Angels theme?

Cassie- married this May in St. Lucia
Nicole- upcoming wedding September 2010 in Lakewood

Alisa-upcoming wedding in Estes Park, 2010

Congratulations to you beautiful, wonderful women. We are all so excited for you and wish you happiness and joy!

Where have we been???

Wow, our last post was from March book club! Where does time go? We've still had our monthly bookclubs, but I have not been diligent about posting.

Here is a recap of what we've been reading:
February- Nicole's house "Flowers for Algernon"
May- Marissa's house "Twilight"
June- Cassie's house "Franny and Zooey"
July- Laura's house "Holes"
August-Alisa's house "Dear John"
September- Lindsey's house "The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes"

Unfortunately, we've also been slacking on our picture taking! I, personally, will make sure that pictures are taken at the next book club at Amanda's house in November!

Happy reading!
~Laura

July 2009 book club

The book for July was "Holes" by Louis Sachar and Laura was the fine hostess. The book was a light, easy read...which was well deserved after the past few months heavy topics! To stick with the theme Laura served food in buckets with shovels to dish it out and also made some yummy "sand" desert. We then washed it all down with some delicious wine (of course)!

We ran out of wine so we turned to VODKA shots!!
